Edwina Tam

Chair of Board of Directors
Edwina is a partner at Deloitte’s Hong Kong’s Valuation Advisory Services office, specializing in business and intangible asset valuations and corporate reorganization for both public and privately held entities involving mergers and acquisitions, strategic planning, financial statement reporting including purchase price allocation under HKFRS/IFRS and US GAAP, tax reorganization, and litigation support.
Prior to her specialization in business valuations, Edwina focused on tax and estate planning for small medium enterprises and provided services in personal, corporate and trust tax, and tax planning in Toronto.
Edwina currently serves on the APEC/IVSC Taskforce focused on improving valuation practices in the APEC region. She is a Chartered Professional Accountant/ Chartered Accountant (Chartered Professional Accountants Canada), a Chartered Business Valuator (Canadian Institute of Chartered Business Valuators) an Accredited Senior Appraiser in Business Valuation (American Society of Appraisers).
Peter Ott
Secretary & Treasurer
Peter Ott is a member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Business Valuators (“CICBV”) and since 2013 a member of their Professional Practice and Standards Committee. He was also a member of two sub-committees of the CICBV that developed guidance to members on issues involved in intangible asset valuation and goodwill impairment that led to the CICBV’s Practice Standard on Valuation for Financial Reporting (Standard 110 Appendix B).
Peter was a Board member of TechConnex (formerly the York Technology Alliance) and contributed in the capacity as non-executive Treasurer and facilitated its Chief Financial Officer Peer Group for many years.
Peter has prepared objective independent valuation analysis of companies in a broad range of industries including: software and technology, business process outsourcing, engineering, cable, TV and broadcast, general and subcontracting, waste management and recycling, gaming, machine and manufacturing, freight and transportation, building supply and construction, human resources, automotive, distribution, venture capital and medical devices.
Raymond Moran

Raymond Moran is CEO of MG Valuation LLC, and has 35 years’ experience with International valuation and accounting firms. MG Valuation is a independent valuation firm serving clients in the Americas, Europe and Asia/Pacific. He specializes in client relationships and valuations for cross-border and domestic mergers and acquisitions, bankruptcy and restructuring, fresh-start accounting, transaction advisory, and litigation support. He is Chair of the IIBV Marketing Committee, past Member of ASA and RICS Valuation Committees, frequent speaker and author on global valuation and accounting topics. Ray has spent much of the past 15 years in Asia/Pacific, living in China and focusing on improving education and coordination amongst valuation professionals and VPO’s. He is a Senior Member of the American Society of Appraisers, Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, and has testified in United States Bankruptcy Court. Prior to his current position with MG Valuation, he was a Senior Vice President and Managing Director- Asia/Pacific with American Appraisal, and served with PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Andrew Strickland
Chair Education Committee
Mr. Strickland is currently a Consultant with Scrutton Bland Chartered Accountants (UK). He holds a FCA (Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales [“ICAEW”] and from Cambridge University, a Master of Arts History. Mr. Strickland is a member of the FCA and a member of the Valuation committee of the ICAEW, completed BV101 & BV102.
Mr. Strickland has had articles published in the UK magazine “Taxation” on tax and valuation matters, including article on the control premium in UK valuation; article in Business Valuation Update (USA) on the bid premium and its misuse for determining minority discounts (with Bob Dohmeyer); and is a regular contributor to the newsletter issued by the valuation committee of the ICAEW to its members. He has also held presentations at the annual valuation conference of the ICAEW on the control premium, on IPCPL and on case study of valuation of a private company. Mr. Strickland has been a contributing member of the Education Committee of IIBV and is now the current Chair of the Education Committee.
Soltan Aljorais

Soltan Aljorais is a vice president of Saudi Authority for Accredited Valuers (TAQEEM), a government regulator for business valuations in Saudi Arabia. Soltan has a 20 years of experience managing a startup projects and organizations in Saudi Arabia.
Soltan participated in creating the implementing regulations in real estate & business valuations for Saudi Arabia. Soltan worked with IVSC to translate & publish the International valuation standards in Arabic language.
David Foster
CEO Business Valuation Resources
David L. Foster is the CEO of Business Valuation Resources (Portland, OR), an information-industry company he acquired in October 2005. BVR has the leading database of private company financials and sale prices, and is the premier provider of education and research for the business valuation and related professions. Prior to BVR, Foster was the founder and president of IOMA (New York, NY), the specialized management how-to publisher.
He has served on the boards of nine publishing companies in the past or currently, including publicly traded BNA (Washington DC), Kennedy Information (Peterborough, NH), Business Publishers Inc. (Silver Spring, MD), BNA International (London, UK), North American Publishing (Philadelphia, PA), Pike & Fischer (Silver Spring, MD), and FDA News (Arlington VA). Foster is a past president of the Specialized Information Publishers Association (SIPA), and served on its board from 1989-2001. He won SIPA’s highest honor, the Hall of Fame award for lifetime achievement, in 2000. He’s still active in SIIA/SIPA/ABM.
Stephen Kertzman

Stephen is a Director of the Business Valuation and Litigation Support Practice at BDO LLP at the Toronto Office. Prior to joining BDO, he was a Partner at one of Canada’s largest boutique firms specializing in business valuation. Stephen has over 15 years of specialized experience regarding the quantification of economic losses for cases involving class action suits, breach of commercial contracts, intellectual property and personal injury matters, and has appeared before the Superior Court Justice of Ontario (Canada) as an expert witness.Trained in the financial, accounting and legal fields, his detailed and comprehensive expert reports have benefited clients in complex litigation matters regarding loss quantification, business valuation and financial investigation issues.
Stephen is a member of the Education Committee of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Business Valuators (CICBV), has co-authored the Course Notes for the Litigation Accounting courses and the Law and Tax course offered by the CICBV. He was the Canadian Course Leader for the CICBV’s Litigation I and Litigation II courses whereby he was responsible for setting and marking exams and advising on curriculum content. Stephen has also authored various papers on the subject of damages quantification and made presentations regarding business valuation issues. He has prepared case study materials for the Advocates Society, University of Toronto Law School and many of Canada’s most prestigious law firms’ advocacy training programs.
Michael Badham

Liying Han

Ms. Liying Han is the Vice Secretary General of China Appraisal Society (CAS). She also serves as the Deputy Director of Valuation Standards Technical Committee and Member of Disciplinary Committee of CAS. She has over 20 years of valuation profession management experience. Prior to joining CAS, Ms. Han worked at the Valuation Center of the then National State-owned Assets Administration Bureau. After joining CAS, in order to know the general picture, she rotated among Exams and Training Department, General Affairs Department, Registration and Regulatory Department and Standards Department. Ms. Han has participated in the setting of multiple Chinese Valuation Standards and professional self-disciplinary regulations, published many professional papers, and involved in the writing and editing of several books in valuation. She has also organized the national annual self-inspection of valuation practices for several times. In 2012, Ms. Han was invited to be a Member of Advisory Board of IPTI.
Hu Zhi

Mr. Hu is now serving as Council Member of China Appraisal Society (CAS), Director of Professional Judgement Committee of CAS, Vice Director of Standards and Technical Committee of CAS, Member of Intangible Assets Valuation Committee of CAS, Member of National Brand Valuation Professional Standardization Techniques Commission, and Vice Director of Continuing Education Committee of Beijing Appraisal Society.
Mr. Hu’s expertise is on financial analysis, business valuation and intangible assets valuation. He has 21 years of working experience in the field of valuation, accounting and auditing during which he has been engaged in the management, auditing and valuation works in enterprises, accounting firms and valuation firms.
Mr. Hu is a major contributor to the establishment of Chinese Valuation Standards and has played an important role in setting national standards on Chinese brand evaluation and researching and drafting international standards in this field.
Vesna Stefanović

Vesna is a Managing Partner at Vision Consulting Belgrade-Serbia, focusing on the business and asset valuation for international and regional companies. She has 22 years of experience working with PwC and the largest local consulting company, managing the various advisory and privatization projects. During her engagement in PwC she was leading the valuation & strategy team in Balkan countries and specialized in the various types of valuation for financial reporting purposes.
Vesna holds a Msci Degree in Economics, she is an Accredited Senior Appraiser in Business Valuation (American Society of Appraisers) since 2006, an Accredited Recognized European Valuer in Real Estate (TEGoVA), the president of Board of Directors of NAVS (National Association of Valuers of Serbia) and Associate Certified Coach (ICF-ACC).
Daniel Manate

Daniel is currently the President of The National Association of Romanian Authorized Valuers (ANEVAR) – Romania. He has 25 years of valuation experience and he has served a long time in ANEVAR board in a variety of committees, such as Scientific & Standards or Public Relations. Being an active valuer mainly in the field of business valuation, he activates as an associate professor in enterprise valuation at the Faculty of Economic Sciences, UAV Arad, Romania and he currently lectures at ANEVAR′s courses and continuous training programs.
Prior to teaching valuation, Daniel followed a 20 years career in investments funds industry, in positions like director of strategy or director of research.
He holds Bachelor’s degrees as Economist and Engineer, he is PhD in Accounting and an Accredited Valuer in Enterprise Valuation (ANEVAR). Daniel is also a member of professional bodies like TEGoVA and RICS.
