Interview with Adam Smith of IVSC Drives Importance of Global Valuation Standards in New Video Series

Toronto, ON December 21, 2016 – The International Institute of Business Valuers (iiBV) have announced a three-part video series that highlights the importance of global business valuation standards. The videos feature Adam Smith, Director of Business Valuation Standards at the International Valuation Standards Council (IVSC) and Michael Badham, Executive Director at the iiBV, and the first of the series is now  available  through the iiBV website (http://www.iibv.org) and the IIBV YouTube Channel.

The IVSC is an independent, not-profit organization that produces and implements universally accepted valuation standards, and will be releasing their 2017 Standards in the new year. The iiBV video series illustrates the different components of the IVSC Standards and their global implications for professional valuers, and the global valuation industry itself.

“The IVSC has put together a blueprint of standards for the valuation industry to meet over the next few years,” say Michael Badham, “and there is an increasing need for more universal criteria that professional valuers can use worldwide.”

The iiBV, together with its member associations, leads the business valuation profession globally by providing educational opportunities, promoting consistent professional ethics and standards, facilitating the exchange of information and ideas, and encouraging international co-operation and communication.
